HSE Enrollment

Union Adult Learning Center, operated by Union Public Schools, is a regional Adult Education program based in Tulsa and grant-funded by Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education. Union Adult Learning Center (UALC) provides high school equivalency (HSE) test preparation classes throughout northeast Oklahoma.

Classes are offered in-person and virtually.  In-person class schedules are determined each year based on the interest of prospective learners. All classes offer enrollment in August and January. If a student misses the August or January enrollment, they can add their name to our waitlist to be placed as seats become available throughout the semester. Classes are offered free of charge; however, the GED and HiSET tests are offered with a fee set by Pearson VUE Testing Services and HiSET/ETS Testing Services.

Virtual classes will ONLY be offered to students, 18 years or older, who test at the appropriate level on the TABE pre-test.  Students earning an E or D level on the TABE pre-test, may not be allowed to enroll in a virtual section.  Anyone requesting virtual classes must have their own technology as well as consistent access to the internet. Computers are NOT provided to virtual students.  Virtual classes may be requested when filling out the enrollment form.  Virtual classes are not available for our students under 18 years of age.  Before complete approval for attendance in a virtual class, students must attend 12 hours of class time before they can begin studying independently.

Open Enrollment is now closed for HSE/GED classes for the fall semester. Also, our HSE classes at UALC AM & PM are full.

If you would like to be placed on a wait list for when openings become available or if you would like more information on enrolling for the fall, please click HERE.

Classes will begin August 29, 2022

Our next Open Enrollment will be January 2023.

Enrollment is by appointment only. At the enrollment appointment, students must fill out an enrollment form and complete the TABE pretest. All interested students will be served regardless of their score on the pretest. After 40 hours of instruction, all students will be given a post-test to help measure educational skills gains and inform the teachers on the student’s readiness for the actual GED or HiSET tests.

Spring classes will meet the week of January 18 and run through May 19.

Students under the age of 18

The minimum age to attend classes with UALC is 16 years old. Students who wish to enroll and are 16 or 17 years old MUST have a signed and notarized 16/17 form on file in our offices BEFORE the student will be allowed to participate in enrollment. It must include the student information, parent or guardian consent, AND a signature from the administration at the school where the student has attended most recently.

Students who are 16 or 17 years old are required to attend in person instruction.
